I read a book called the BFG, by Roald Dahl. I think a lot of people know Roald Dahl by a writer of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. His book is very odd but funny for children's literature, I thought. He uses many strange words! But I enjoyed reading it.
This story is about a girl and a giant goes to an adventure of fight and get rid of bad giants who live in a giants country. It start with the part that Sophie, the main girl character, saw a giant moving towards her house, in the hour calld "witching hour". The giant noticed her and he carries away to his home. But actually, the giant was the only kind giant in a giant country. His name was BFG, Big Friendly Giant. People think that giants are cruel, mean, and harmful, but only BFG was the good giant. So Sophie and the BFG thought to fight with those evil giant, and make giant world happy place, and they start an adventure. Finally, they get rid of evil giants by using helicopter, and took them to special large pit in London, where they can't escape.
This book is kind of hard to read because it's too long and it contains many words that doesn't exists, but it's still fun. I recommend this book to people who like Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
Children's books are fun to read, but maybe there is a lot of slang or colloquial language which is hard for you to understand.
